Strengthening a Community Brand Through Consistent, Strategic Communication

Fitmums & Friends is more than a fitness group – it’s a charity-led community movement, helping people of all ages and abilities become more active, supported, and connected.

With 14 individual clubs, thousands of members, and a long-standing reputation in Yorkshire, the brand already had a strong foundation.

But with so many touchpoints and channels to manage, and more projects, events and campaigns on the horizon, the organisation needed consistent, on-brand, and strategic communication to keep everything running smoothly and growing with intention.

That’s where I came in.

Leading Communications Across Platforms and Projects

As Comms Lead, I manage content strategy and delivery across:

  • 12 Facebook pages, plus coordination with 14 club pages reaching over 12,000 followers
  • The main Instagram and LinkedIn presence
  • All visuals, copy, and storytelling including photography, filming, and content creation

From delivering training sessions to help club volunteers communicate with clarity, to refining the organisation’s visual identity across platforms, every post, image and caption is part of a wider strategy that supports growth, awareness, and engagement.

I also run paid ad campaigns to support key projects, such as the Menopause Programme, and lead full comms for flagship events like the annual Headscarf Hustle, including:

  • Press releases
  • Social campaigns
  • Visual assets
  • Messaging across all platforms

Results That Speak for Themselves

In the last 30 days:

  • The main Facebook page (alongside the 13 others) achieved over 134,000 views
  • Over 1,800 interactions
  • A 103% increase in new followers

But this isn’t just about the numbers, it’s about building a community that wants to engage.

Campaigns like ‘No Medal? Medal Monday’ now encourage regular followers to celebrate their own wins – whether they completed a marathon or simply made it out for a walk. This sense of inclusivity and connection is what makes Fitmums & Friends special, and the content strategy now reflects that at every touchpoint.

The Bigger Picture

When communication is intentional, strategic and consistent, it doesn’t just grow numbers, it strengthens the brand, deepens community, and gives every campaign and project a stronger platform to succeed.

Whether it’s a national event, a local run club, or a targeted support programme, your message deserves the right platform, the right voice, and the right strategy behind it.

That’s what I bring.

Working with Angie has transformed how we use social media. Our content now truly reflects the heart of our community, and the results speak for themselves. We’ve seen huge growth across every platform, with more people engaging, sharing, and joining in. It’s been a game changer for raising awareness of what Fitmums & Friends offers
